English Setter(英国塞特犬<英国雪达>)
 [简介]
一种文雅、稳固而匀称的枪猎,理想状态是混合了力量、毅力、优雅和风度。平坦的被毛,羽状饰毛有足够的长度。步态舒展而平滑,前躯伸展充分,后躯驱动有力,背线保持平直、稳固。雄性明显表现出肌肉发达,但不粗笨。雌性明显表现出柔美,但不过分精致。整体外观,匀称性,步态和效果,比任何一个单独的部分都重要。首先,任何部分过度夸张而破坏了整体协调,都属于缺陷。
[头部]尺寸和比例与身躯非常协调。长而倾斜,止部非常清晰。从侧面观察时,头部的主要平面(口吻的上平面、脑袋的上平面、下颌平面)都彼此平行。脑袋:从上面观察时,脑袋呈卵形,中等宽度,不粗糙。耳根处略宽于眉毛的位置。后枕骨适度突出。脑袋的长度(从后枕骨到止部的距离)与口吻的长度相等。口吻:从侧面观察,口吻长,且呈四方形,上唇相当深,呈四方形,且相当下垂。宽度与脑袋协调,在鼻镜处的宽度与止部的宽度相同。从眼睛到鼻镜上端保持水平。鼻镜:黑色或深褐色,色素充足。鼻孔分的较开,且大。前脸:眼睛下方的骨骼结构轮廓分明,但不过分突出。面颊平顺且线条清晰。牙齿:紧密的剪状咬和为首选。钳状咬和也可以接受。眼睛:深褐色,颜色越深越好。明亮且有间隙,一种聪明而温和的表情。几乎是圆形的,相当大。既不深陷,也不突出。耳朵:位置靠后,且低,恰好在眼睛所在的水平线下方。毫无拘束地挂在头部两侧。中等长度,末端略圆,耳廓略薄,覆盖着丝状毛发
[颈部和身躯]颈部:长而优美,肌肉发达,且倾斜。顶部圆拱,线条清晰,在脑袋根部与头部接合。粗大而众多的肌肉向肩部方向生长,在颈根部,平滑流畅地融入肩胛。没有夸张的赘肉。背线:在运动中或站立时,保持水平或略向下倾斜,没有摇摆或下垂的迹象,从马肩隆到尾巴形成优美的轮廓线,长度适中。前胸:非常清晰,胸骨前端略微向前突出,稍微超过肩胛骨与上臂骨连接处的关节一点。胸部:深,但不能太宽或太圆,而妨碍了前臂的动作。胸底深度达到肘部。肋骨:长,向身躯中间方向逐渐支撑起来,靠近胸腔末端逐渐变细。背部:直而结实,与腰部连接。腰部:结实,中等长度。略微圆拱,适度上提。臀部:臀部几乎是平的,臀骨距离分的较开,臀部圆形,平滑地融入后腿。尾巴:背线平顺的延续。末端尖细,尾尖精致,有足够的长度,能延伸到飞节或略短。笔直而水平地举着,与背部同高。丝质的羽状饰毛松散地悬挂在边缘。

[颜色和斑纹]斑纹:白色底色上带有深色毛发,形成条带斑纹,从清晰的斑点到班驳的杂色都有,斑纹覆盖全身比较理想。头部和耳朵上有色块可以接受,身躯上有沉重的色块则不理想。颜色:橘色条带,兰色条带(黑白相杂的斑纹),三色(兰色条带,口吻、眼睛上、腿上带有棕色),柠檬色条带、肝色条带。
[动作和姿势]轻松优美的动作,显示出耐力和有效的步伐。前躯伸展充分,后躯驱动有力,欢快的尾巴和骄傲的头部姿势。由于前肢的伸展动作,所以头部可能略底。背部结实、稳固,没有滚动。小跑时,由于地心引力的作用,四肢会逐渐向身体中心线收拢。
[尺寸]雄性约25英寸;雌性约24英寸。
[气质]温和、挚爱、友善,不羞怯、恐惧或恶意。

General Appearance
Anelegant, substantial and symmetrical gun dog suggesting the ideal blendof strength, stamina, grace, and style. Flat-coated with feathering ofgood length. Gaiting freely and smoothly with long forward reach,strong rear drive and firm topline. Males decidedly masculine withoutcoarseness. Females decidedly feminine without over-refinement. Overallappearance, balance, gait, and purpose to be given more emphasis thanany component part. Above all, extremes of anything distort type andmust be faulted.
Head
Size and proportion in harmony with body. Long and lean with a welldefined stop. When viewed from the side, head planes (top of muzzle,top of skull and bottom of lower jaw) are parallel.Skull--ovalwhen viewed from above, of medium width, without coarseness, and onlyslightly wider at the earset than at the brow. Moderately definedoccipital protuberance. Length of skull from occiput to stop equal inlength of muzzle.Muzzle-- long and squarewhen viewed from the side, of good depth with flews squared and fairlypendant. Width in harmony with width of skull and equal at nose andstop. Level from eyes to tip of nose.Nose--black or dark brown, fully pigmented. Nostrils wide apart and large.Foreface--skeletalstructure under the eyes well chiseled with no suggestion of fullness.Cheeks present a smooth and clean-cut appearance.Teeth--close scissors bite preferred. Even bite acceptable.Eyes--darkbrown, the darker the better. Bright, and spaced to give a mild andintelligent expression. Nearly round, fairly large, neither deepset norprotruding. Eyelid rims dark and fully pigmented. Lids fit tightly sothat haw is not exposed.Ears--set well backand low, even with or below eye level. When relaxed carried close tothe head. Of moderate length, slightly rounded at the ends, moderatelythin leather, and covered with silky hair.

Neck and Body
Neck
--longand graceful, muscular and lean. Arched at the crest and cleancut whereit joins the head at the base of the skull. Larger and more musculartoward the shoulders, with the base of the neck flowing smoothly intothe shoulders. Not too throaty.Topline--inmotion or standing appears level or sloping slightly downward withoutsway or drop from withers to tail forming a graceful outline of mediumlength.Forechest--well developed, point of sternum projecting slightly in front of point of shoulder/upper arm joint.Chest--deep,but not so wide or round as to interfere with the action of theforelegs. Brisket deep enough to reach the level of the elbow.Ribs--long, springing gradually to the middle of the body, then tapering as they approach the end of the chest cavity.Back--straight and strong at its junction with loin.Loin--strong, moderate in length, slightly arched. Tuck up moderate.Hips--croup nearly flat. Hip bones wide apart, hips rounded and blending smoothly into hind legs.Tail--asmooth continuation of the topline. Tapering to a fine point with onlysufficient length to reach the hock joint or slightly less. Carriedstraight and level with the back. Feathering straight and silky,hanging loosely in a fringe.

Forequarters
Shoulder
--shoulderblade well laid back. Upper arm equal in length to and forming a nearlyright angle with the shoulder blade. Shoulders fairly close together atthe tips. Shoulder blades lie flat and meld smoothly with contours ofbody.Forelegs-- from front or side,forelegs straight and parallel. Elbows have no tendency to turn in orout when standing or gaiting. Arm flat and muscular. Bone substantialbut not coarse and muscles hard and devoid of flabbiness.Pasterns--short, strong and nearly round with the slope deviating very slightly forward from the perpendicular.Feet--face directly forward. Toes closely set, strong and well arched. Pads well developed and tough. Dewclaws may be removed.

Hindquarters
Wide,muscular thighs and well developed lower thighs. Pelvis equal in lengthto and forming a nearly right angle with upper thigh. In balance withforequarter assembly. Stifle well bent and strong. Lower thigh onlyslightly longer than upper thigh. Hock joint well bent and strong. Rearpastern short, strong, nearly round and perpendicular to the ground.Hind legs, when seen from the rear, straight and parallel to eachother. Hock joints have no tendency to turn in or out when standing orgaiting.

Coat
Flat without curl orwooliness. Feathering on ears, chest, abdomen, underside of thighs,back of all legs and on the tail of good length but not so excessive asto hide true lines and movementor to affect the dog's appearance orfunction as a sporting dog.

Markings and Color
Markings--whiteground color with intermingling of darker hairs resulting in beltonmarkings varying in degree from clear distinct flecking to roanshading, but flecked all over preferred. Head and ear patchesacceptable, heavy patches of color on the body undesirable.Color--orangebelton, blue belton (white with black markings), tricolor (blue beltonwith tan on muzzle, over the eyes and on the legs), lemon belton, liverbelton.

Movement and Carriage
An effortlessgraceful movement demonstrating endurance while covering groundefficiently. Long forward reach and strong rear drive with a livelytail and a proud head carriage. Head may be carried slightly lower whenmoving to allow for greater reach of forelegs. The back strong, firm,and free of roll. When moving at a trot, as speed increases, the legstend to converge toward a line representing the center of gravity.

Size
Dogs about 25 inches; bitches about 24 inches.

Temperament
Gentle, affectionate, friendly, without shyness, fear or viciousness.
